About Cooper Foundry, Inc.
History
Founded in the early 1940’s, Cooper Foundry was established as a small, non-ferrous jobbing foundry in Kalamazoo, MI until it was purchased by the Hollerbach family in 1975. Under the leadership of father and son team, Jim and David Hollerbach, Cooper Foundry expanded their capabilities from green sand to include air-set and petro-bond molding, allowing for increased size, finish, and productivity. In our 40- year history as a family owned foundry, we have benefited from an exemplary knowledge of non-ferrous metal casting, seamless communications with our buyers, and on time delivery of quality parts with little to no scrap.
Our Employees
Every employee at Cooper Foundry is viewed and treated as a valued member of our family. Our family- first approach to conducting business has resulted in a low employee turnover rate. Cooper Foundry is proud to have a majority of its employees with over five years of experience. This tenured history means that your parts are carefully monitored from start to finish, reducing scrap and post-production problems.
Self-Investment
At Cooper Foundry we are committed to investing in the most current and environmentally friendly machinery available. Annual reviews of our instruments and machinery allows for Cooper to determine where and when we can improve our processes to reduce our carbon footprint and energy use. In 2016 we added a new Pillar Mark-8 furnace, Castec Mixing head, and shake-out unit to our shop. For 2017 we have added a new States Engineering Muller system, and have plans to expand our mezzanine to accommodate additional storage.
Safety
Investing in the safety of our employees is paramount to the philosophy at Cooper Foundry. As such, a great deal of our time and energy is dedicated to ensuring that our safety and health procedures are in line with those put forth by both State and Federal Government Organizations. We view our employees as family, and as such, we spare no expense when it comes to their health and health.
